Agree a meeting after the airport formalities

The airport’s bus page identifies route 337 outside the arrivals hall as an airport–Tbilisi city service. It does not describe a direct bus to Gudauri. Its listed city endpoint is not evidence that a mountain service leaves from the same place or that there is a through ticket.

If considering the city connection, establish where you will get off, how you will reach the onward boarding point and who operates that next leg. Confirm its actual departure, seats, luggage acceptance and final Gudauri drop-off separately. Include all transfers and walking with equipment when comparing against a direct car. No live bus or mountain-service departure has been checked for your arrival.

A late flight can change the practical choice. Check that each intended service operates after you are actually outside with bags; do not rely on landing time or assume overnight operation. If choosing a night in Tbilisi first, name the city accommodation and treat the following resort trip as a separate pickup. The airport route estimate does not describe that two-stage stay.

This is a rounded planning estimate, not live traffic, a fresh OSRM measurement or a guaranteed arrival. It excludes the time your party needs inside the terminal and any additional errands.

The airport origin matters: a general Tbilisi city-to-Gudauri duration starts elsewhere. Tell the provider whether you intend to go directly, collect someone in the city or stop to obtain rental equipment. A city detour or several addresses changes the task and should be priced and timed explicitly.

Ask how current road and weather conditions will be checked before continuing into the mountains. Georgia Travel’s winter guide calls attention to the winding approach; it is not a live road bulletin. The article confirms neither road opening nor a vehicle’s ability to pass a restriction. Keep the first evening or next activity flexible until the actual journey is agreed.

Coordinate the resort door with the arrival date

Check whether the car can reach the unloading place in the expected conditions.
